Griddles with their unique abilities can be used to cook multiple dishes which are not only healthy but are relatively easy to do. Here are some quickies to 5 tasty mouthwatering recipes.

Buttermilk pancakes ( Serves six )


  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 3/4 to 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda

3 tbsp. oil – Vegetable cooking spray to coat griddle surface

Use a whisk to mix the given ingredients together. Heat the griddle and with the heat control knob stabilize the temperature. Use a spoon to drop the batter on griddle. Now Turn the cakes when bubbles appear on the surface and begin to burst. This recipe makes a very light pancake.

Apple Rice Griddle Cakes


  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. finely grated apple
  • 3/4 c. cooked rice
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 tbsp. melted shortening & 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

First beat the eggs and mix well with milk, apple, rice, nuts and shortening. Heat the Griddle and use the temperature control knob to get to the right temperature. Cook slowly until bubbles form and edges are dry. A total of 14 apple rice griddle cakes can be made from the batter.

Chinese Fortune Cookies


  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. sugar

Beat the egg and add sugar.Beat the whole mixture and mix gradually adding sugar. Ensure the mixture is thick. Use paper stripes and fold in oil. Mix cornstarch with water and a little egg mixture. Beat into remaining egg mixture. Use the griddle temperature control knob to place the temperature at 300 degrees. And drop batter by heaping tablespoons of the mixture on the griddle making circles. An average time period of 5 minutes is good until the cookies are golden in color. Now remove from the heat and lay a paper on each cookies and fold them to your favorite shape.Cool and keep in airtight container. Don’t cook too many at once, or they’ll harden before you can shape them.



  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2/3 c. milk

Crumpet rings, crumpet rings can be made by cutting the bottoms out of tuna fish cans.

Use a small bowl to combine 1/2 cup of the flour and the yeast. In a saucepan heat milk, 1 tablespoon butter and salt until just warm stirring constantly. Add to dry ingredients in bowl; add egg. Beat at low speed for 1 minute, scraping the sides of the bowl. Stir in remaining flour, beat until smooth. Cover and let stand for about 1 hour until double in bulk. In a large skillet or on a griddle (an electric frying pan works good) melt half the remaining butter. Lightly brush the crumpet rings with butter. Place on the pan or griddle. Pour 2 tablespoons batter in each ring. Cook over medium heat until the crumpets are brown on one side, 4 or 5 minutes. Remove ring and turn and cook 4 or 5 minutes longer. Repeat until all batter is used. Makes about 8 crumpets.
