If you never saw Conan O’Brien’s goodbye speech, it’s some of the best 4 minutes you’ll ever watch. I’ve probably watched this 30 times now and every time it gives me chills.
So many takeaways, but the most important to me are the love and respect of his fans, his humbleness, his belief in hard work paying off and his aversion to cynicism.
How many other entertainers in our society show similar traits and genuinely care? How many people get so caught up in themselves and forget where they come from? How many crappy people are lifted up as role models and shouldn’t be?
